Chris Ochoa – Guitarist, Producer, and Entrepreneur

Chris Ochoa is a guitarist, producer, and bandleader whose raw passion for tone and groove has driven a lifelong journey through blues, rock, and soul-infused music. Born in 1979, Chris picked up the guitar at age 9, long before he owned one, borrowing instruments from friends or crafting makeshift versions just to keep playing. By 13, he had his first real guitar, and from that moment, his path was clear.

Through his teens, Chris became known locally as the guitarist to watch, commanding stages with a fiery mix of feel, phrasing, and showmanship that reflected the influence of greats like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix while forging his own sound. Performing in school bands and early jam groups, he quickly earned a reputation as both a dynamic performer and a natural leader.

By 1998, Chris had taken his skills into the studio, producing his first blues track and catching attention for his knack for arrangement and production. This early success led him to work with a range of artists across genres, eventually founding Kmoore Records, an independent label that released multiple successful albums and singles. His approach combined the authenticity of a live player with the precision of a modern producer, a balance that became his signature.

As the years rolled on, Chris’s musical journey evolved from stage to studio and back again, fronting bands, producing emerging artists, and developing a sound that blends vintage guitar tones with contemporary energy. His live shows have become known for their intensity and emotional connection, bringing audiences into the music as if they’re part of the band itself.

Today, with over 35 years of experience in the music industry, Chris remains as passionate as ever, continuing to write, record, and perform while mentoring the next generation of players. Through his online guitar courses, he teaches not just the techniques behind soulful playing but also how to think like a complete musician, balancing artistry, creativity, and career.

As he works on his latest music, Chris is dedicated to sharing the lessons he’s learned along the way: how to find your voice, build your sound, and turn your passion for guitar into a lifelong pursuit.
